2014 LWVWV LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES
The League of Women Voters of West Virginia has adopted the following issues as its legislative priorities for the 2014 session of the West Virginia Legislature. Each legislator was sent a letter including this information.

a.. The LWVWV supports the concept of a future fund for West Virginia
a.. The LWVWV supports an upgrade of the fracking/horizontal drilling law to protect those who live near the drilling sites and the environment.
a.. The LWVWV supports measures that improve children’s lives by assuring access to health care, pre-school education, and community resources that increase their chances for early school success.
In keeping with its goal of encouraging active and informed participation by citizens in their government, the League will continue to monitor election laws. The League supports a permanent funding source for the Supreme Court of Appeals Public Campaign Financing Program, and opposes restrictive voter ID measures.
