With thousands of West Virginians at risk of losing healthcare access, the health and well-being of our state, our hospitals, our nursing homes, and our citizens hang in the balance.

We OPPOSE HB 3016, another voter suppression and discrimination bill. For no apparent reason, HB 3016 eliminates voter ID options without photographs. As if that weren’t enough, HB 3016 requires “non-citizen” status to be emblazoned on IDs issued legally to non-citizen residents. The League supports RCV, initially to elect West Virginia Supreme Court Justices, with consideration to expand RCV for future elections. The bundle of bills referenced in our testimony would prohibit RCV in WV elections. Such action to be extreme and premature. Therefore, we OPPOSE all these bills.
